The Ella Rose Foundation, created in honor of our daughter, Ella, is currently receiving care
at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) & Children's National in Washington, DC.
Ella is a 15-year-old whose life once revolved around competitive dance. The studio was her second home, the music her constant companion. In February of 2024, everything changed when Ella was diagnosed with a Diffused Anaplastic Wilms Tumor. A Diffused Anaplastic Wilms Tumor is a Pediatric Cancer that occurs on the Kidney. Just days later, on February 8th, she underwent a six-hour surgery to remove her left kidney. What followed was a grueling journey—eight treatments of radiation and twenty-eight rounds of chemotherapy—each one demanding strength far beyond her years.
Ella met every challenge with courage. After months of treatment, hope arrived in the form of three clean scans. However, in July of 2025, doctors discovered a cancerous spot on her liver. On October 21st, Ella faced another major surgery, this time to remove the tumor along with part of her liver. Once again, she showed the same determination that has defined her journey from the very beginning.
Today, Ella is receiving a study medication at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, under the careful watch of
Dr. Dome. This chapter is filled with cautious optimism and deep faith. We are hopeful—truly hopeful—that this treatment is the answer to our prayers, and that Ella’s story continues to unfold with healing, strength,
and a future as bright as the dancer she has always been.

Ella has been dancing since she was a young girl, and her love for dance has always been at the center of who she is. The studio became her happy place, where she poured her heart into every step and performance. Through Adage Dance Center, Ella competed in numerous competitions, sharing her passion and talent on stages near and far.
Even during treatment, dance never left her side. Ella truly danced her way through cancer—often right in the hospital halls—creating TikTok dances with her nurses, turning difficult days into moments of laughter and light. The nurses who cared for Ella became so much more than caregivers; they were her teammates, her biggest cheerleaders, and a constant source of strength and compassion. Their kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support helped carry Ella through her toughest days, reminding her that she was never alone.

Ella’s love for hockey grew even stronger during her diagnosis. After treatment, on days when she wasn’t feeling her best, she would watch the LA Kings play—finding comfort, excitement, and something to look forward to. While she had always been a fan, this time deepened her connection to the game in a meaningful way.
Ella was fortunate enough to meet several members of the LA Kings hockey team, who took the time to sign her jersey and offer words of encouragement. The LA Kings, proud supporters of CHLA, showed incredible kindness—not only to Ella, but to all the children receiving care there. Today, Ella proudly wears her signed jersey to every game she attends, a symbol of strength, hope, and the community that rallied around her.

Family and friends are at the heart of Ella’s strength. Her family means everything to her, and they have been blessed with an incredible support system that has surrounded her with love every step of the way. From the very beginning, they have been by her side—making sure she has everything she needs, especially on treatment days, when home-cooked meals and quiet care mean the most.
Ella’s friends have also played a huge role in carrying her through this difficult journey. They showed up in countless ways—talking, playing games, laughing together, and doing anything they could to make her smile and lift her spirits. Their unwavering presence reminded Ella that she was never alone, and that even in the hardest moments, love, friendship, and community can bring comfort and hope.

Our family has witnessed firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with a childhood cancer diagnosis. The Ella Rose Foundation exists to turn our journey into action—supporting children and families facing pediatric cancer with practical help, compassion, and hope.
